Privacy Policy
How GIRDER handles the information you send us through this website.
Last updated: 28 July 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers personal information collected through girderconstruction.ca by Girder Construction Inc. ("GIRDER", "we", "us"). It is written with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in mind. It does not cover information you give us in person, on a job site, or under a signed construction contract — that is governed by the contract and by our records-management practices.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
Our quote request and contact forms ask for what we need in order to price and plan a build, and nothing beyond it:
- Your name, and your business name if you give one
- Your email address and phone number
- The project address or city
- Project type, sector, approximate size, target timeline and budget range
- Anything you choose to write in the message field
- If you apply for a role: whatever you put in your email and attach to it, including your resume
Please don't send us sensitive personal information — health details, government identifiers, banking details — through a website form. We don't ask for it and we don't need it to quote a job.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server and security logs, which include IP address, browser user-agent, requested page and timestamp. If website analytics are enabled, we also collect page views, referring page, approximate region and interactions such as "quote form started" and "quote form submitted". We use this in aggregate to understand which pages are useful. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
3. Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare an estimate
- To arrange and carry out a site visit
- To administer a project you have engaged us for
- To consider you for a role you have applied to
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and improve it
- To meet our record-keeping and legal obligations
We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or trade contact lists. We will not add you to a marketing list from a quote request alone.
4. Consent
Submitting a form is your consent for us to use the information in it for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us — see section 11 — subject to any legal or contractual records we are required to keep. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer quote or deliver the work.
5. Service providers
We use third-party providers to run this website and handle enquiries. They process information on our behalf, under their own terms and privacy policies. Depending on configuration at the time you visit, these may include:
- Cloudflare
- Website hosting, content delivery, DNS and bot/spam protection. Processes request metadata including IP address as part of delivering and protecting the site.
- Formspree
- Form delivery — receives quote and contact form submissions and forwards them to our inbox.
- Supabase
- Database storage for enquiry records, so we can track and respond to them properly.
- PostHog
- Website analytics — page views and interaction events, used in aggregate.
- Email provider
- Delivery and storage of the email correspondence between us.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country may be accessible to that country's courts and law-enforcement agencies under its laws. If that concerns you, call us instead of using the form — the phone number is at the bottom of every page.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become projects: kept up to 24 months, then deleted, so we can pick up a conversation you come back to.
- Project records: kept for the duration of the project and afterwards for as long as warranty, limitation-period, tax and construction-lien obligations require.
- Job applications: kept up to 12 months so we can contact you when a role opens, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Server and analytics logs: retained on our providers' standard schedules, typically weeks to months.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to enquiry records is limited to the people who need it to do their job, and our providers apply their own technical and organizational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information, and notify the Privacy Commissioner where the law requires it.
9. Access and correction
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@girderconstruction.ca with "Privacy request" in the subject line, or call (905) 000-0000. We may need to verify who you are before we release anything.
We aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your request, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you need this policy or your information in an accessible format, tell us — see our accessibility statement.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our systems or obligations change. The current version always lives at this address, with the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
