About GIRDER

Bare Shell to Grand Opening

We take your space from bare shell to grand opening — built clean, finished sharp, open on time.

01Our story

We build the rooms Ontario does business in

GIRDER is a commercial construction and interior fit-out contractor based in Brampton, working across Ontario. We take commercial space from a bare unit to an open business — restaurants, retail stores, pharmacies, salons, clinics and offices.

We started this company because too many owners were being handed a set of keys and a punch list of somebody else's excuses. A build-out is not just construction. It is a lease that started, staff who were hired, and a date somebody has already told their customers. Miss it and the damage is not a line item — it is the whole opening.

So we run it differently. One contract covers the scope. One supervisor stands on your site. One project manager answers the phone. Changes get priced and written down before anyone picks up a tool. And the finish — the millwork, the paint line, the way the storefront reads from the sidewalk — gets the attention it deserves, because that is the part your customer judges you on.

02What we stand on

Five things we refuse to be average at

Not values on a wall. These are the decisions we make when a job gets difficult.

  • 01

    Fit-out specialists, one team

Framing, mechanical and electrical coordination, millwork, finishes — under one contract and one accountable builder. You are not the general contractor of your own build-out. We are.

  • 02

    The finish is the difference

Your customer never sees the framing. They see the bench, the reveal, the paint line, the way the door closes. That is the part we sweat, and it is why our millwork is shop-built rather than bought.

  • 03

    Open on time

We build to your opening date, not to a vague duration. Your lease is running and your staff are hired. Every schedule we publish is one we report against weekly, in writing.

  • 04

    Full-scope, self-performed

When a job needs concrete, structure or a foundation, we self-perform it instead of hiring it out. No juggling subs, no finger-pointing when a slab and a schedule disagree.

  • 05

    Local, licensed, Ontario-wide

Brampton roots, WSIB-covered, fully insured, and working across Ontario. Close enough to be on site the same day for the GTA; equipped to travel for a project worth travelling for.

03Safety

Everyone goes home

Most of our work happens inside occupied plazas and buildings, beside somebody else's customers. Safety is not a binder we produce at the pre-construction meeting — it is what makes that possible at all.

A WSIB clearance certificate and our certificate of insurance are available on request, before you sign anything.

  • WSIB coverage on every worker, with a clearance certificate available on request
  • A written health and safety policy, reviewed with the crew on every project
  • Working at Heights and WHMIS current for everyone on site
  • Daily hazard assessments and toolbox talks, documented
  • Proper hoarding, dust control and negative air when we build beside an open business
  • Site swept and made safe at the end of every shift — no exceptions

04The crew

Who actually shows up

Names and faces go here once the people in them have agreed to it. Until then, here is honestly who works on your job and what each of them owns.

  • Project managers

One per project, start to finish. They own the budget, the schedule and the phone you call.

  • Site supervisors

On site daily. They sequence the trades, run the safety talk and hold the quality standard.

  • Carpenters & millwork installers

Framing through finish. The crew whose work your customers actually look at.

  • Estimators

They walk the space, write the number, and stay on the job to defend it.

  • Coordinators

Permits, submittals, procurement and closeout — everything that has to be ahead of the crew.

  • Team photos pending

We would rather show you nobody than show you stock photos of people who don't work here. Real crew portraits go up after our next site shoot.
